How do you clean gutters?

We will arrive at your home ready to go with our own ladders, hoses and bags. We will hand clean all gutters. Upon completion of the cleaning all debris will be bagged and left on-site.

When should I clean my gutters?

Gutter cleaning is a form of preventative maintenance that can actually prolong the life of your home. For that reason, gutters should be cleaned as often as needed. Most customers have their gutters cleaned twice a year, though less frequent cleaning may be adequate for some houses. This depends on the property, the gutters and the landscaping. Depending on the type of trees you have on your property and how close they are to your house but. We recommend cleaning your gutters twice per year: late spring/early summer. And late fall/early winter early December,
after most leaves are done falling. This will help protect the gutters over the winter.

How do I know if my gutters need to be cleaned?

The gutters will not work properly if they are clogged. Some good signs the gutters are clogged is the water coming over the top, water in the basement, water dripping or leaking from the gutters when it is not raining or hasn’t rained recently. Water will leak inside your home, generally where the ceilings meet the walls. These are just the most obvious signs of clogged gutters; sometimes the signs are not so easy to spot, which is why we recommend cleaning the gutters twice a year.

What is the purpose of gutters?

The purpose of gutters is to move rainwater from your roof areas down the side of your home and safely away from the foundation where it could leak inside your home and potentially cause flooding or foundation problems. Gutters are also designed to avoiding large icicles from forming at the edge of your roofline, which will damage the edges of shingles. The fascia boards or rafters can begin to rot from the water constantly dripping. The sides of your home will weather much faster from the excess water beating on the side. The down spouts should drain the water 3- 5 feet from the foundation of your home, safely away from frequently used sidewalks/driveways since the water during the winter will freeze and will create an unsafe condition.

How do gutters get clogged?

Gutters become clogged generally from leaves, pine needles and other debris that falls on your roof. Also sometimes animals such as birds and squirrels may build a nest inside or behind your gutters which can also cause a clog. Gutters can also run smoothly in the spring and summer and fall but if there is just a little bit if debris in the gutter it will hold water and freeze causing over flow of water and then in the spring when the water is thawed they will appear to work properly.

How much does it cost to have gutters cleaned?

It can range between $1.25 and $1.50 per foot of gutter, but not all gutters are the same. Give us a call for a quote. No, you do not need to be home for us to clean the gutters. We will leave an invoice for you.

How long does a gutter cleaning take?

It depends on the amount of gutters you have on your home but most gutter cleanings take between 15 min to an hour.

Why should I hire someone to clean my gutters?

You should hire someone to clean your gutters for a few reasons; first of all we are professionals who do this every day. Second, we are fully insured and have years of experience on ladders. For the average person it is not worth the risk of falling to save the small fee we charge.
